My name is MaryJo Thurston and I have been involved in childcare since 1988.  I am delighted to welcome you to Building Blocks Preschool.

In 1988 while attending college to become a registered nurse and watching my own children grow and develop, I realized my overwhelming interest in early childhood education.  I then changed course and began a large family daycare with a preschool setting where my interest continued to grow while raising my five children.

With the desire to further my education, I returned to school to study early childhood education at Santa Rosa Junior College in the fall of 1998.   I then received my Director/Teacher Qualifications and then was given the opportunity to convert my home into
a preschool. 

I am proud that the school has dedicated, caring, qualified instructors.  Each teacher not only fulfills state requirements, but they also attend ongoing training and opportunities for professional development.  In addition, our staff feels like a family. I look forward to providing quality care in a safe and inviting preschool.
